37Months Imprisonment for a Student Activist

Mostafa Mohammadhassan, a former student activist from Tarbiat Modares University, was sent to prison on Tuesday, Azar 5th (November 26), to serve a 37-month prison sentence. He was convicted in the Revolutionary Court on the charges of “insulting Islamic sanctities,” for which he received a 37-month prison sentence, “spreading falsehoods,” resulting in 14 months of imprisonment and a fine of 15 million tomans, and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” for which he was sentenced to 8 months in prison. The maximum penalty (37 months) is applicable in his case. The basis for these accusations was Mr. Mohammadhassan’s activities on social media, which were used as pretexts for these charges.
