5 Semesters of suspension from education for art students

Tehran University of Art

Tahmineh Mahdian, a student of sculpture at the Tehran University of Art, has been suspended from studying for a total of 5 semesters. Since October 2022, she has been barred from attending for one semester without a formal order of exclusion, suspended for another 2 semesters due to fabricated charges, and now, after completing her previous suspension period, an additional 2 semesters of suspension have been confirmed by the Central Committee of the Ministry of Science. She has been suspended for the past year and a half, and the recent ruling will also prevent her from attending the upcoming semester.

This comes at a time when she was in her final undergraduate semester, losing the opportunity for direct admission to a master’s program due to the suspension, and is now facing the risk of expulsion.
