Motahereh Gounei, in a statement published on her personal page on the social media platform X, announced that Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court has sentenced her to 15 months in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic” and 6 months in prison on the charge of “insulting Khamenei.”
The verdict also includes the confiscation of her mobile phone due to the presence of what the court described as “criminal content” on the device.
According to Gounei, the ruling was issued less than a week ago by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court, although the exact date of issuance was not mentioned in the text she shared. She further explained that she has been convicted on two separate charges, resulting in a total of 21 months of prison time, and that her phone has been seized
