Another Attack by Thieves on Students Just Steps Away from Tehran University of Medical Sciences Dormitory!

In the early hours of Saturday, March 15, two students from Tehran University of Medical Sciences were targeted by thieves at the main Amirabad Street, at the intersection of 16th Street. According to the victims’ reports, the two students were walking on the sidewalk and had stopped at the 16th Street bus stop to rest. At that moment, a motorcyclist accompanied by an accomplice approached them and initially attempted to steal their phones by pretending to request a phone call.

After the students refused, one of the thieves, threatening them with a cold weapon, snatched one of their phones. He then attempted to steal the second student’s phone as well, but the student ran toward the security office of the Koi University of Tehran dormitory. Seeing this, the second thief also jumped on the motorcycle, and both suspects fled the scene.

Fortunately, this incident did not result in any casualties, but it has heightened concerns about the increasing thefts around the dormitory area of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. A previous student survey also indicated that the routes leading to these dormitories are not considered safe.

It is worth noting that after the tragic murder of AmirMohammad Khaleghi, multiple reports of theft and mugging of students have been received from various parts of Tehran University’s dormitory area. The continuation of these insecurities once again highlights the incompetence and failure of the Islamic Republic government and university officials in ensuring student safety.
