Beheshti University Students Threaten Protest over Poor Dormitory Conditions

A group of students residing in the Ghaemmagham and Keshavarz Boulevard dormitories of Shahid Beheshti University have issued a protest statement expressing their dissatisfaction with the “disorderly” state of the dormitories.

According to the statement, despite the university’s announcements that the dormitories had been prepared to accommodate students during the exam period, residents have faced numerous and fundamental problems from the very first days. Issues raised include water outages and low water pressure on all floors—particularly the upper ones—extreme heat and non-functional air conditioners, as well as the presence of cockroaches and other insects in rooms and common areas.

The students have called for immediate and effective action to provide basic welfare facilities, including a stable water supply, adequate cooling, and proper hygiene, emphasizing that if the situation persists and their demands are ignored, they will pursue the matter through legal and media channels.

They further warned that if conditions do not improve by Monday, they will hold a protest gathering at exactly 12:00 noon in front of the main dining hall of Shahid Beheshti University.
