■ “A Shadow of Fear Over the University; Blood on the Pavement of Incompetence”
- The tragic news of Amir Mohammad Khaleqi’s murder, a 19-year-old student, has once again deepened the wounds in our hearts. Under the rule of an incapable and inefficient political system, we live in fear and insecurity, falling victim to tyranny.
- Amir Mohammad Khaleqi, a 19-year-old student, was attacked by armed thieves and fatally stabbed twice during an altercation with them.
- The news of his murder is a wake-up call to any conscious mind. This was not an unforeseen or unavoidable incident—it was the direct result of neglect toward a danger that students have long been warning about: the absence of security.
- In recent years, we have witnessed numerous cases of theft and assault near university campuses. Like the rest of society, Iranian universities are plagued by insecurity.
- This insecurity has now taken a student’s life. But his murderers were not just street criminals—the real culprit is a system that sacrifices security to its own incompetence and inefficiency, prioritizing repression over protection.
- Security in this country has long lost its true meaning. It has become a tool for oppression and silence. This tragedy occurred on the very day when security forces were deployed—not to ensure public safety but to suppress protests marking the anniversary of the Green Movement leaders’ house arrest.
- Law enforcement agencies, supposedly responsible for public safety, have long deviated from their duty, transforming instead into instruments of repression.
- The murder of a student is not just an unfortunate event; it is the manifestation of a failed and dysfunctional system whose only priority is self-preservation.
- Where can we seek justice when, in response to student protests, security forces unlawfully enter the university, violently suppressing and assaulting students?
- This is not about changing an official, installing cameras, or setting up a police booth. The issue is a political structure that itself is the root cause of insecurity.
- Amir Mohammad Khaleqi was a symbol of all of us—those of us who live under the weight of this incompetence, falling victim every day to failure, corruption, and irresponsibility.
- But we will not stay silent in the face of this injustice. We will not allow this crime to be buried in silence. Our demand is an end to this oppressive cycle. We refuse to continue paying the price for your failures.
In short: We will not let you take more lives. Enough is enough.
