An image shared on social media from the security office of a university shows that a database of student photos has been uploaded into a system, and footage from surveillance cameras is being cross-referenced with this database.
Previously, the Amirkabir Newsletter had reported the installation of facial recognition systems in at least five universities in the country (Shahrood University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University, Razi University in Kermanshah, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad).
