21 years ago on this day, Zahra Kazemi, an Iranian-Canadian journalist who had come to Iran to report on student protests, was arrested while photographing a gathering of families of prisoners outside Evin Prison on the orders of Saeed Mortazavi. She died as a result of torture and beating in Evin Prison.
