On Thursday (March 6, 2025), security forces raided the home of Shaqayeq Akbari, a PhD student in political sociology at Tarbiat Modares University, in Shiraz. After searching her home, they confiscated her mobile phone and laptop. Previously, she had been sentenced to a four-semester suspension from university, including academic years, on charges of “committing acts against the Islamic Republic in cyberspace.”
Similarly, in recent days, Hasti Amiri, another former student activist, also had her home searched, and her mobile phone was confiscated.
