On July 17, 2025 (26 Tir 1404), the secretary and spokesperson of the Islamic Students’ Association of Sharif University of Technology was officially summoned to the IRGC Intelligence Follow-Up Office by an order from the judiciary.
Approximately two weeks earlier, on July 6, 2025 (15 Tir 1404), the Islamic Students’ Association had announced in a public statement that it had suspended the release of a critical declaration regarding the recent 12-day war. In the statement, which was later removed from the association’s official media outlets, emphasis had been placed on the importance of public consent, including a sentence that read: “Without the consent of the people, it is impossible to stand up to an external threat.”
The announcement stated:
> “Last Wednesday, a statement was published by the Islamic Students’ Association of Sharif University of Technology, which aimed to raise some of the existing concerns regarding the current situation of the country and propose possible solutions for improvement. However, due to the current sensitive circumstances and numerous received recommendations, it was deemed inappropriate to raise such issues at this time, and therefore the statement has been removed from the association’s media outlets.
The Islamic Association has always been concerned with freedom and the advancement of Iran and hopes that, with the help and patriotism of the people, our country will overcome this crisis as well.”
Nevertheless, one of the stated reasons for the summoning of the Association’s secretary was the publication of the critical statement addressed to the officials of the Islamic Republic regarding the 12-day war
