Case building for over 30 students from the Faculty of Social Sciences

University of Tehran

After the physical assault and insulting behavior of Mr. Gholamreza Jamshidihha, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tehran, toward students—which led to a student protest and, eventually, the intervention of the security office, with a commitment to investigate and address this inappropriate behavior—it is surprising that after a month, Mr. Jamshidihha faced no repercussions. Contrary to the security office’s promise, there was no acceptance of responsibility or apology from him for his improper conduct. On the eve of Student Day, 30 students from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tehran were summoned to the disciplinary committee, accused of participating in the aforementioned protest.

This repressive, illegal, and unethical approach toward students, by creating an unsafe psychological environment in the university and fostering confrontation, will undoubtedly lead to increased tension within the university.
