A group of academics, teachers, political, civil, and trade union activists have issued a statement in support of Dr. Hassan Bagherinia, protesting the security and judicial institutions’ actions in fabricating charges against this academic critic.

In the name of God, the Just and the Advocate
We have been informed that, following the fabrication of charges, expulsion from the university, and issuance of a prison sentence against the esteemed and thoughtful professor Dr. Hassan Bagherinia for his enlightening work and criticism of governance, the security and judicial apparatus of the Islamic Republic has once again created a case against him. By bringing heavy and baseless accusations, it aims to silence this committed and peace-seeking teacher and others like him.
We, the undersigned — a group of academics, teachers, and political, civil, and trade union activists — declare that Dr. Hassan Bagherinia is one of the most honorable, ethical, courageous, and peace-loving intellectuals and professors in the country. His only tools have been the pen and speech, and his entire effort has been directed toward diagnosing the problems of governance, critiquing power, and improving the psychological well-being of society. Therefore, the accusations against him are fundamentally baseless and unjust.
We call on the judiciary of the Islamic Republic to immediately cease the fabrication of charges against this respected teacher and intellectual, and instead, to facilitate his return to the university. Furthermore, we urge the authorities to foster an environment where the constructive thoughts and voices of Dr. Bagherinia and others like him are heard more clearly and can contribute meaningfully to society.
We, the undersigned — academics, teachers, and political, civil, and trade union activists — express our support for Dr. Bagherinia and his civic-minded approach, and we call on the judiciary to reconsider its treatment of national and peace-seeking intellectuals, and to recognize and value their significant role in the advancement and development of the country.
