Yesterday (26 Tir 1404 / July 17, 2025), by official order of the Judiciary, the secretary and spokesperson of the Islamic Students Association at Sharif University of Technology was summoned to the IRGC Intelligence Follow-Up Office.
Approximately two weeks earlier, on 15 Tir (July 6, 2025), the Islamic Students Association had issued a notice announcing the suspension of a critical statement regarding the recent 12-day war. That statement—later removed from the association’s official channels—had emphasized the necessity of public consent, including the sentence: “Without the consent of the people, it is not possible to stand against an external threat.” The notice read:
> “Last Wednesday, the Islamic Students Association of Sharif University of Technology published a statement expressing certain concerns about the country’s current situation and proposing remedies for improvement. However, given the present sensitive circumstances and multiple recommendations received, it was deemed inadvisable to raise these issues at this time. Therefore, the statement has been removed from the association’s media platforms.
The Islamic Students Association has always been committed to freedom and the advancement of Iran, and it hopes that, with the support and patriotism of the people, our country will also overcome this crisis.”
Nevertheless, one of the reasons cited for summoning the association’s secretary was the publication of this critical statement on the 12-day war addressed to officials of the Islamic Republic.
